Kenyan Protests: Raila Declares Kenya Kwanza Failure

Azimio leader, Raila Odinga, has stated that the challenging economic conditions resulting from the Kenya Kwanza administration have compelled numerous Kenyans to engage in street demonstrations in protest.

Addressing the crowd on Saturday, Raila stated that the protests were not solely organized by the opposition.

“People have a reason to go to the streets, they are not mad to go to the streets because Raila has said so,” he said.

He mentioned that Kenyans have brought up essential concerns that the Kenya Kwanza government has disregarded.

“They are going to the streets because they have a good reason. They are talking of the high cost of living, high taxation and education of their children, and electoral justice. All these are very fundamental issues Kenyans are raising against this regime,” Raila added.

He observed that it’s important to criticize the administration led by President William Ruto, pointing out that they will persist in their efforts to ensure that the people of Kenya receive what is rightfully theirs.

“This regime must stand condemned and we will not be cowed.”

“Ruto does not own Kenya. Kenya does not consist of only two tribes it consists of 46 tribes even those who did not vote for Kenya Kwanza are Kenyans and have a right to demand services,” Raila stated.

Raila addressed the audience in Kisumu, where he had participated in the inauguration event of the Othoo Seventh Day Adventist church.

In his speech, the ex-Prime Minister also rebuked President Ruto for his recent comments suggesting that his sole remaining task is to escort him back to Bondo.

Raila remarked that he can reach Bondo without relying on Ruto, as he is familiar with the route.

Even though they had agreed to engage in bipartisan discussions, the two leaders have persisted in exchanging verbal jabs during their public appearances.
