Kenyan Man Claiming Tom Mboya as Father Found Dead After Viral Plea

A Kenyan man identified as George Gerry Mboya has been found dead only a few days after tearfully asking for help from netizens.

Where is Overland Park Regional Medical Center?

In a video shared by Obuyu Onalo, Mboya was seen looking relatively clean but sickly and with slurred speech. At some point, he broke down while speaking of his predicament regarding shelter, health conditions, and losing everything.

“I am Tom Mboya’s youngest son. I lost everything; I went to Overland Park Regional Medical Center for six months because my liver failed,” he said.

The hospital is in Kansas, United States of America, and once doctors released him, he had nowhere to go. A good Samaritan offered him some money to sleep in a motel.

“I don’t even have a phone on me, it was cut off because I could not make the payments,” he said amid tears.

The well-wisher helped him, and the two agreed to meet the following day. It has now been established that the young man died on July 31.

According to a Facebook poster, it was revealed that Mboya was cremated on August 9, and his ashes will be brought to Kenya for a family burial, which will be announced later.

“A life well-lived, a life at rest, a gentle spirit, and one of the best. Now slumbering deep, in peaceful ground. Memories cherished forever abound,” read another part of the post.

    Clarification by family

According to Jarunda Jaluth Mambobiad, he consulted with the Mboyas, who clarified that the deceased was going through depression.

“He was not Tom Mboya’s son (Mboya ma or Kidero Mboya ma Mboya). May God comfort his friends and family. Depression is real,” he said.
