Kenyan Embassy Halts Passport Processing in Riyadh
A suspension has been imposed on passport processing at the Kenyan Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
As per a statement released by the Embassy, the ongoing Mobile Consular Services in the Kingdom have been notified of the suspension, which will remain in effect until Sunday, November 19.
Diplomatic mobile consular services pertain to situations in which diplomats provide aid beyond the confines of the embassy, such as notarization of documents or processing of visas. The objective of diplomatic practice is to increase the proximity of consulate services to citizens to improve their convenience and accessibility.
The Embassy stated in its statement that regular operations will be reinstated on Monday, November 20, 2023.
”This is to notify all Kenyans in the Kingdom of Sudi Arabia that processing services at the Embassy, have been temporarily suspended until Sunday, 19th November 2023, due to the ongoing mobile Consular Services in the Kingdom,”
According to a statement released by Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary Roseline Njogu on November 4, consular services will be extended to Kenyans residing in Saudi Arabia and Belgium. This initiative is a component of the Ministry’s broader service delivery enhancements.

”Mobile Consular Services heading your way! Kenyans in Belgium and Kenyans in Saudi Arabia,” she stated
As a result of the ongoing consular services in Saudi Arabia, Kenyans have obtained birth certificates, passports, and identification cards, among other services.
”Kenyans in Riyadh received various consular services such as passports, IDs and birth certificates during the ongoing Mobile Consular Services at Kenyan Embassy in Riyadh,” the Embassy stated.
Consular services were likewise extended to Kenyans residing in Germany in an instructive capacity.
”The Mobile Consular Services (MCS) team in Germany would like to thank everyone who came for the consular services and those that mobilized Kenyans in their own spaces to come for the outreach program in Hamburg,” the Embassy further stated.
In an earlier communication, the Foreign Affairs Ministry requested interested Kenyans to utilize mobile services during the precise moment when the Kenyan team was in motion.
