Kenya to Announce 2024 KCSE Results in Two Weeks, Says Education CS Julius Ogamba

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has confirmed that the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results will be released within two weeks.

Speaking on Tuesday, December 31, Ogamba assured the public that the Ministry of Education is maintaining its tradition of releasing KCSE results in January.

“The results will be announced within two weeks. As is customary, KCSE results are released in January, and we are sticking to that schedule,” Ogamba stated.

The CS addressed concerns about potential delays, clarifying that the absence of Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams this year might have caused confusion.

“In previous years, KCPE results were released in December. Since we didnโ€™t have KCPE this year, some may have assumed delays for KCSE,” he explained.

The 2024 KCSE exams, conducted between October 22 and November 22, saw 965,501 candidates sit their papers across 10,755 centers nationwide.

To uphold exam integrity, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) introduced strict anti-cheating measures. Each candidate received a unique exam paper to prevent malpractice, while mobile phones were strictly banned for candidates, invigilators, and center managers.

Supervisors and invigilators were rotated regularly, and their phones were securely stored under police surveillance during exam sessions.

Despite these safeguards, 621 candidates were involved in exam irregularities, such as possession of unauthorized materials and mobile phones.

The ministry remains committed to ensuring fairness and transparency in the marking process.
