    Kenya Power Announces Scheduled Outages Across Seven Counties for System Maintenance

    Kenya Power Announces Scheduled Outages Across Seven Counties for System Maintenance

    Kenya Power has outlined specific areas across seven counties that will undergo planned power outages on Thursday.

    These scheduled interruptions are necessary to allow for essential system maintenance, according to the power company.

    The announcement was made public on Wednesday evening by the utility firm.

    The affected regions include Nairobi, Kisii, Kilifi, Migori, Kiambu, Mombasa, and Kajiado counties.

    Power outages will occur at various times throughout the day, starting as early as 9 am and lasting until 5 pm.

    In Nairobi:

    Certain parts of Nairobi will be without power from 9 am to 5 pm.

    The affected areas include:

    • Kibaragare Way: Kibagare Way, Nairobi School, Kibagare Slums, and surrounding areas.
    • Kibiku: Eastern Bypass, China Road, Gesora Road, Corradin Easts, Mihango SDA, Karagita, Kenya Builders Quarry, Shamji Ramji Quarry, Maono Prayer Center, ESRD East, and Buruburu Farmers.
    • Sewage: Githunguri, Corner ABCD, BMI Plaza, Pedesta, Crown, Bima Court, National Oil, Embakasi Ranching, Muhuri Muchiri Secondary, parts of Eastern Bypass, Rubis Petrol Station, Gatuoro, Sewage Plant, Kamnyonge, and Kwa Ruto.
    • Joska: Ruai S/Center, Ruai Police, Ruai DC, Githunguri, Block 10, Makongeni, Stage 26, Twin Bird, Kipawa, Made in the Streets, Kingoris, Kamulu, Reflector, Brookshine, Ngondu, and surrounding areas.
    • Utawala: Eastern Bypass, Weacon S/Mkt, Triple O Hotel, Bakri Petrol Station, Fahari Hotel, Komarock Modern Hospital, St. Bakhita Hospital, Oil Libya P/Stn, Benedicta Hospital, Mihango East, Utawala S/Center, Kinka, Githunguri, Maji ya Ngilu, Tamarind, Zebra, and MC East.

    • Additional impacted areas include North Impact, Nairobi Gate Industries, and neighboring locations.

    In Migori:

    Power interruptions will affect parts of Migori from 9 am to 4 pm.

    These include Migori Namba, Kenya Relief, Brace Clinic, Kalamu, Mabera, Moheto, Motemorabu, Nyabohanse, Komomwamu, Nyankore, Sorore Water Pump, and Isebania.

    In Kiambu:

    Kiambu areas will experience a power outage from 8:30 am to 5 pm.

    Impacted locations include Marige, Kibichoi, Komothai Boys and Girls, Kigumo, Gathiru-ini, Mbari ya Igi, and Kiratina.

    Additionally, areas around Kenton Hotel, Marion School, Kamwaki, Kamiti Ridge, Kahawa Law Courts, Wamickey, Kenflora, Mugumo East, and Ruturo Village will also experience power disruptions.

    Other affected areas in Kiambu include Thangari Village, Kamau Muigai, Part of Mutomo Village, Gatundu C/Fact, Gatundu Hospital, Gatundu KPLC Offices, Gatundu Water Offices, Gatundu DC’s Office, Gatundu Posta, Tembo Feeds Factory, Kirangari Markets, Gatundu Police Station, Ituru School, Muthiga Girls, Wamwangi Market, and Mukinyi Markets, with outages expected from 9 am to 5 pm.

    In Mombasa:

    Power will be interrupted in parts of Mombasa from 9 am to 5 pm.

    The affected areas are Endi Textiles, Devki Miritini, Caltex Jomvu, Shreej, KTDA, Shell Jomvu, Transpares, Hakika, Jomvu Dispensary, Fehmi Nailsworks, Kwa Bendube, Mikanjuni, Aldina, Jomvu Kuu, Jitoni, Icolo Data, Excel, Mji wa Ngombe, Jomvu Police, Jomvu Girls, Narcol Aluminum, and Ngamani.

    In Kajiado:

    Kajiado will experience power cuts from 8 am to 5 pm.

    The affected areas include Korompoi, Maua Agritech, Desire Flora, Yash Poles, Hawa, Olturuto, Prayer Centre, Kisaju, Jamii Bora, Kenchic, Saris Quarry, and Lucky Base.

    In Kisii:

    Parts of Kisii will face power outages from 9 am to 5 pm.

    Affected areas include Kegati Market, Riabanyi Secondary, Rinyamwamu T/Fact, Matibo, Fisheries, Kiogoro KBC, Royal Media Nyanguru, Star Times Nyanguru, Sayari Radio, Camel Park Hotel, Kiogoro Market, Nyaguta Secondary, and Matunwa Market.

    In Kilifi:

    Kilifi areas scheduled for power outages from 9 am to 5 pm include Mwango, Mkoroshoni, Mtondia, Tezo, Chumani, Magorani, Zowerani, and Ngerenya.
