Kenya Kwanza MCA’s Fiery Clash with Kilifi Woman Rep
Hassan Mohammed, a member of the Kilifi County Assembly, engaged in a heated confrontation with Gertrude Mbeyu, the Kilifi County woman representative, in Matsangoni Ward, Kilifi County, causing chaos.
In a video posted to Mbeyu’s social media platform, the Orange Democratic Movement politician was disregarding the MCA, who was standing beside her and waiting for an opportunity to address the area residents.
However, the woman representative instructed Mohammed, a coalition member for Kenya Kwanza, to take a seat and wait his turn.
“Have you seen how I look?” Are you trying to compete with me in my style of dressing,” she mocked the MCA amid laughter from the crowd. “Go and sit down so that I can speak,” she added.
The MCA, offended by her remarks, feigned to return to his seat before seizing the microphone from her.
Mohammed was promptly manhandled by Mbeyu’s security team, with one bodyguard choking and dragging him away from the scene.
Additionally, additional security personnel raced toward the MCA, removing him from the Woman Representative.

After one of the bodyguards drew a gun while attempting to subdue Mohammed, the situation escalated.
However, a number of the MCA’s allies raced to his defense to prevent any further harm. In response, the emcee attempted to restore order by prohibiting politicians from addressing the audience.
Mbeyu, an ardent member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), posted a photo on her social media platform with the caption, “The MCA has lately entered politics and wants to steal the microphone. “He has faced the music and is now in complete safety.”
The Coast region has been engaged in a supremacy conflict, with the majority of the regions touted to belong to the Azimio coalition.
Hassan Mohammed was one of 15 MCAs from the Amason-Kingi-led Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) party who won their seats on their first try in the 2022 elections.
On the other hand, Mbeyu won her first attempt at a seat in parliament on an ODM ticket.
