Participating in a panel discussion on Citizen TV’s Day Break. The member of parliament stated that the UDA will respect leaders with opposing views. Because it is their democratic right to do so.

“The majority of us agree with the president’s agenda and goals, and we have stated that we will support him,” the lawmaker told Citizen TV’s Day Break.

“However, we do not punish some of our coworkers if they hold a contrary opinion, as we do with our coworkers from Azimio,”

The Azimio coalition has acted unjustly by summoning MPs who supported the contentious Bill. According to a lawmaker who claims the ruling party has no interest in pursuing a vendetta.

“Members of parliament are representatives of the people, sent to parliament to exercise their democratic right to vote… they listen to their constituents,” said the MP.

If they support a section of this Finance Bill, it would be completely unjust and authoritarian to punish them.

“We have not sent anyone a letter requesting an explanation as to why they should not be subject to disciplinary action,”

“The majority of our colleagues on the opposing side who supported the bill had to hide to avoid the vote, which is not democratic at all,”

In the meantime, panelist MP Robert Mbui questioned why President Ruto had visited the Githunguri region. From which MP Wa Muchomba hails, just days after the Bill passed its second reading.

Elsewhere, Mathare MP Antony Oluoch, who was also on the panel. Viewed claims that the UDA would not punish lawmakers who crossed the line as dishonest.

“The President and his Deputy issued a stern warning to members of parliament who would vote against the Finance Bill 2023,” Oluoch stated. “They claimed that if you voted against it, you would not receive roads or this… these clips should have been shown here,”

The Member of Parliament also asserts that the President left Meru on Sunday to travel to Githunguri. Where he “responded to MP wa Muchomba.”

“How undemocratic can this administration become? Ruto even traveled to Githunguri to respond to Wamuchomba,” he continued.
