Kenya Appointed Vice President of Eastern Africa Anti-Corruption Authorities’ Executive Committee
Kenya has been chosen as the vice president of the Eastern Africa Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities Executive Committee for a two-year term.
This appointment occurred during the 15th Annual General Meeting of EAAACA, currently taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where Kenya’s Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is in attendance.
The meeting includes heads of anti-corruption agencies from various East African nations, including Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Djibouti, South Sudan, Burundi, and Somalia, who are gathering to discuss ways to enhance regional cooperation in combating corruption.
The EACC delegation is led by Jackson Kaunda Mue, Director of Field Services and Coordination.

On Thursday, Mue presented on coordination, collaboration, and cooperation in asset recovery.
EACC continues to serve as a model for asset recovery, sharing its knowledge and best practices with other countries in the region.
In January, Kenya was chosen to host the Centre for Anti-Corruption Studies and Research in Africa, an important regional anti-corruption body established by the African Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (AAACA).
This decision was made at the AAACA’s extraordinary meeting on January 9, 2024, acknowledging Kenya’s commitment to international and regional anti-corruption efforts, including its key structures, law enforcement, and success in recovering illicit assets.
