A young man who closely resembles activist Kasmuel McOure caught the attention of Pastor James Ng’ang’a during a church service.

In an undated video, the evangelist is seen stunned and questioning whether the young man was, in fact, the well-known activist.

The striking resemblance left Pastor Ng’ang’a confused, causing the congregation to burst into laughter.

The young man, who was at the dais to explain to the pastor a back problem he’s been having, found himself at the center of Pastor Ng’ang’a’s curiosity.

“You are not that one, right? The one named…?” Ng’ang’a asked, referring to Kasmuel.

The young man said he wasn’t Kasmuel, but the pastor wasn’t convinced, repeating his question, “You’re not that one? Not him? What’s his name?” Ng’ang’a asked.

He turned to his team as he tried to recall Kasmuel’s name, while the young man looked around, bewildered.

Finally, Ng’ang’a remembered the name.

“Hehe, Samuel, right? Ka…Kasmuel? You are not Kasmuel?” he asked again to which the young man answered in the negative.

This prompted Ng’ang’a to say, “So this isn’t Kasmuel! Kasmuel is the one I heard talking about some school issue, something about kids going for lunch on Saturdays? I heard him recently.”

The church erupted into laughter as the conversation eventually shifted back to the young man’s ailment, with him explaining that the medicine he had taken wasn’t helping ease his back pain.

Kasmuel has been making news headlines since the onset of the Gen Z protests in mid-June and has been appearing in various media interviews, local and international, articulating what the Kenyan youth are fighting for.
