Karua’s Message To Dorcas Oduor After Being Sworn In As Attorney General

Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua extended her congratulations to Dorcas Oduor following her swearing-in as the new Attorney General of Kenya.

In her Tuesday, August 20 statement, Karua expressed confidence in Oduorโ€™s capability and offered her best wishes as she steps into the role.

โ€œCongratulations to Dorcas Oduor on being sworn in as Kenya’s first female Attorney General. You are more than capable of excelling in this position,โ€ Karua remarked.

Oduor took her oath of office at a ceremony held Tuesday morning at State House, Nairobi, officially succeeding Justin Muturi, whom President Ruto appointed as Cabinet Secretary for Public Service.

Following Oduorโ€™s swearing-in, President William Ruto expressed his assurance that she would excel in her duties and elevate the countryโ€™s standing.

“I have no doubt that you will not only make Kenya proud but also exemplify that women can match or even exceed what men can do. Many will be watching,โ€ Ruto commented.

Oduor underwent vetting for the AG position on August 9 before the National Assembly Committee on Appointments.

During the vetting process, Oduor committed to being a proactive Attorney General if confirmed by the National Assembly. She pledged to work closely with Kenyans to fulfill the constitutional aspirations of the nation.

“As Attorney General, I will be responsive and a representative of the people. I hope the office will collaborate with all Kenyans in realizing our constitutional goals,” Oduor affirmed.

Before her appointment as Attorney General, Oduor served as the Secretary of Public Prosecutions at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and a postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
