“The couple had some domestic issues because the reporter refused to guarantee the deceased a loan of Sh2 billion that he intended to take to start a business,” the police said in their report.

The couple returned home along Ndege Road in Karen around 1 a.m. on Sunday after meeting and drinking with a family advocate and his relative at a nearby restaurant, according to a report filed at Karen Police Station.

However, it appears that due to a disagreement over the loan request, the couple spent the night in separate bedrooms until the deceased’s body was discovered at sunrise.

“They each spent the night in different rooms and the deceased never woke up since then but could be heard snoring throughout the day and night and had vomited in his bedroom.

“It wasn’t until today (Monday) around 0600hrs that she went to check on the deceased and found him lying dead on his bed with some vomit beside the bed,” police said.

According to the police report, a doctor called in from the Karen Hospital around 6 a.m. confirmed the death around 9 a.m. before the remains were moved to the Lee Funeral Home awaiting an autopsy.

“Police were called and the scene was processed. “There were no visible injuries on the body,” police said.
