Kalonzo: It was an honor to worship with Uhuru
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was lauded by wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for attending a fundraiser in his hometown on Sunday.
Uhuru attended the event alongside other Azimio leaders at the Full Gospel Church in Mwingi.
“It was my honor and joy to worship with former President H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta today at the Full Gospel Church in Mwingi, Kitui County,” Kalonzo said.
The former vice president remarked that the message of servant leadership inspired every leader in attendance, including Uhuru.
In addition to others, former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, former Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa, and Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti accompanied Uhuru.
Attendees were greeted by the retinue following the church service.
Kalonzo remarked that the meeting with locals and the subsequent consideration of their perspectives were extraordinary.
“Address the cost of living. This is the Azimio La Umoja – One Kenya Alliance Coalition No. 1 minimum,” he said.
In Mwingi, the former head of state addressed some of the concerns that the Kenya Kwanza regime had leveled against him.
Conversely, he stated that the present administration ought to confront the challenges confronting the Kenyan people, rather than attributing everything to the previous regime.
“Every time one is unable to do what he should do they blame the past government, [with this trend] even if the wife has refused to give birth it will be blamed on us, but we are used to this,” Uhuru said.
Former Head of State Uhuru stated that his sole recourse is to offer supplications for Kenya and the nation’s cohesion.
“Although I had retired, I continue to pray for Kenya and unity,” he explained.

It appears that Uhuru is referring to the administration of President William Ruto, which has repeatedly attributed the current economic crisis to the previous regime.
Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua, Uhuru’s deputy, have both attributed the current elevated cost of living to Uhuru’s administration.
Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung’u attributed the exorbitant cost of living to purported economic missteps committed during the regime of the retired President early this month.
The Treasury chief addressed the National Dialogue Committee during his appearance.
“The truth is that we are paying for the policy errors of the past. “The errors of the past are being paid for in full,” Ndung’u declared unequivocally.
Kipchumba Murkomen, cabinet secretary for transport, held the previous administration accountable for the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport roof breach last week.
“When we got to office, we found out that many of our airports are in a pathetic state and JKIA leaking is a result of that,” he said.
Uhuru maintained that he remains a member of the coalition Azimio La Umoja and that the ongoing blame game does not concern him.
“I always tell people that I am a member of Azimio. I am not the type to hop from one party to another because that is what I was taught, to be a person with a stand, not someone who is easily swayed,” he said.
Uhuru implored the leaders to remain steadfast and loyal to secure a brighter future for the nation.
