Kalonzo Issues Ultimatum to President Ruto & Raila Over NADCO Report
On Sunday, March 31st, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka gave President William Ruto and Raila Odinga a deadline to make a statement regarding the suspension of the implementation of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report.
In Diani, Kwale County, Kalonzo expressed doubt, suggesting that the suspension might have political motivations.
Kalonzo suggests that if President Ruto and Azimio Leader Raila Odinga remain silent on the matter, he would interpret it as internal sabotage against the implementation of the NADCO report.
“It is the responsibility of those who nominated the NADCO committee, Raila Odinga and Ruto, to come out and give directions. Otherwise, we will see they took advantage of us should they not do that,” he stated.
Kalonzo and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah had jointly led the NADCO committee as co-chairs.
Flanked by former Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa who was also a member of NADCO, Kalonzo remarked that even during the deliberations of the report, the Azimio side was aware of a scheme to sabotage it.

He explained that during the committee’s sittings, the Azimio wing had received intelligence reports that someone would be sent to the courts to oppose what they had agreed on.
It is because of this, that Kalonzo held the belief that a court ruling issued on Friday, March 29, suspending the implementation of the report was State-sponsored.
“There’s a scheme already (to sabotage the report), and we do not know if it has been finalized but even if it has been finalized, we want them to know we know,” he stated.
“Someone was propped to go to Kiambu Law Courts to stop its implementation while the report is a property of the Parliament.”
Kalonzo alleged that Kenya Kwanza was sabotaging the report to solely appoint the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) selection panel.
“If they go with that route, we will know they want to rig elections before they are conducted,” he lamented.
