Kalonzo Breaks Silence on Creation of Govt Handshake With Ruto Via NADCO

On Sunday, March 10, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka stated that despite a recent reconciliation between the opposition and President William Ruto, he has no intention of joining Ruto’s government.

During his interview on Inooro TV, Kalonzo clarified that the rumors about a handshake government involving the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) were without basis.

The ex-vice president asserted that NADCO had developed a plan to ensure stability in the nation, emphasizing that this should not be misconstrued as the opposition seeking control of the government.

“There is no NADCO government because there is a lot to be done. Without that, there can be no working together,” he explained.

“I do not want to be in the government. I am ready to be in the opposition to fight for Kenyans.”

Kalonzo clarified that his current objective is to engage in protests against Ruto’s administration, to remove the fifth president of Kenya from office.

The leader of the Wiper party was cautious, concerned that Raila and Ruto might have distinct agreements that did not coincide with his political goals.

He clarified that he had compiled the NADCO report, emphasizing that if Raila and Ruto didn’t supervise its execution, he wouldn’t accept responsibility for any ensuing criticism.

“I have given them the NADCO report and if they (Raila and Ruto) destroy it, it is up to them,” he explained.

He acknowledged that Raila and Ruto were the ones who proposed the formation of a dialogue committee and appointed him to co-chair the team alongside National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungw’ah.

Kalonzo restated his earlier comments, emphasizing that it was unnecessary to subject the 8 Bills formulated by the NADCO committee to public participation.

He asserted that the Bills originated from suggestions made by Kenyan citizens, thus eliminating the necessity for an additional round of public involvement.
