Kakamega Governor Barasa Accuses Oparanya of Interference, Oparanya Denies Claims
Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has urged his predecessor Wycliffe Oparanya to cease meddling in his administration.
In a widely circulated social media video, Barasa, speaking in Mumias, accused Oparanya of orchestrating nocturnal meetings aimed at destabilizing his government.
Barasa emphasized the need for Oparanya to respect the current leadership, accusing him of organizing night meetings to undermine the county assembly. He challenged Oparanya to declare his political ambitions for 2027 clearly and criticized him for sending mixed messages about his intentions.
Barasa highlighted that Oparanya, who had the support of the Wanga community for a decade, is now opposing him after barely two years in office.
When contacted on Thursday, Oparanya dismissed Barasaโs accusations, stating he has no interest in discussing Barasa.
