KAA Announces New Payment Model for 7 Services at JKIA & All Other Airports
The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has declared that payments for services like airport parking across the country will be conducted through digital means, eliminating the use of cash, after the transition to a digital system.
In an announcement released on Monday, February 5, it was highlighted that Kenyans can now utilize the USSD code *566# for conducting payments.
KAA clarified that their decision to relocate was driven by their aim to provide smooth and uninterrupted services to the people of Kenya.
At Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), the digital platform provides services such as security passes, film shooting arrangements, airport tours, fees for holding animals, and charges related to Miraa.
Sanctions and monetary penalties imposed at the nation’s biggest airport will also be settled through the USSD payment system.
The only thing needed for payment is the invoice number, which will be supplied at different airports.

Conversely, the USSD will facilitate various services at Wilson Airport, such as issuing security passes, managing film shooting permissions, organizing airport visits, and handling penalties and fines.
KAA has introduced a new platform that includes services such as airport car parking, security passes, film, airport visits, penalty and fines, and cargo fees at Kisumu, Eldoret, and Moi International Airports.
Additionally, KAA noted that the platform will also apply in airstrips including Malindi, Lokichogio, Wajir, Manda, Kitale, Kakamega, Lodwar, Garissa, Isiolo, and Kabunde.
KAA is the body mandated to manage airports and airstrips in the country.
The latest action is President William Ruto’s instruction to digitize services, aiming to increase revenue collection and improve the efficiency of government service delivery.
