Israeli Families Demand ICC Action Against Hamas for Genocide
Their attorney announced on Friday that the families of nine Israeli victims of Hamas attacks last month have filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged war crimes.
Additionally, the families desire that Hamas be held accountable for genocide and that the International Criminal Court issue an international arrest warrant for its leaders, according to a statement by attorney Francois Zimeray.
Hamas conducted bloody assaults on October 7, which, according to Israeli officials, claimed the lives of over 1,400 individuals.
“The complaint concerns victims who were all civilians,” Zimeray said, adding that several of them were at the “Tribe of Nova” rave party — a music festival.
“The complaint states that the Hamas terrorists do not deny the crimes committed, which they have amply documented and broadcast, and that the… facts cannot therefore be disputed,” he said.
Zimeray stated in an interview with Radio Classique of France that he consistently avoided “excessive qualifications” of events.

However, he stated that he and his legal team had proven that the allegation of “genocide” “stands up in court.”
An investigation into a case brought before the International Criminal Court (ICC), situated in The Hague, is the responsibility of the court’s prosecutor, although the court itself may accept cases brought before it.
The court, when contacted by AFP, was unable to confirm whether or not it had received the documents at that time.
Established in 2002, the International Criminal Court investigates and prosecutes heinous crimes worldwide.
It initiated an investigation into Israel, Hamas, and other armed Palestinian organizations in 2021 for potential war crimes in the Palestinian territories.
The International Criminal Court has jurisdiction over any suspected war crimes in the ongoing conflict, according to its prosecutor, Karim Khan.
However, ICC teams have encountered obstacles in accessing Gaza and Israel, both of which are non-ICC member states.
