Since retiring in 2022, Uhuru has been involved in various peace initiatives across the continent, with a primary focus on the peace processes in the DRC and Ethiopia.
The meeting with the diplomats took place shortly after Uhuru’s meeting with President William Ruto, who visited him on December 9.
During the December 9 meeting, Ruto praised Uhuru for his significant contributions to peace efforts in the East African Community (EAC).
“The leaders acknowledged the need for a wider and more inclusive political consensus in the country’s governance to accelerate inclusive growth and achieve the national development agenda,” said a statement from Uhuru’s office.
“The two leaders also recognized Kenya’s pivotal role in fostering peace and security in East Africa through diplomatic and peace-support initiatives, which are vital in resolving conflicts, restoring peace, and ensuring regional stability.”
