Inside Agriculture CS Linturi’s Intense 7-Hour DCI Interrogation
Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi appeared at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters on Kiambu Road to address the issue of fake fertilizer valued at Ksh209.5 million.
Linturi arrived at the DCI at 7:00 am to state the distribution of the fake fertilizer in the market.
He spent over seven hours there before proceeding to the State House for President William Ruto’s National Address.
If the DCI detectives found sufficient grounds, Linturi could have been detained over the weekend.
In the past week, three senior officials from the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) were arrested for conspiring to defraud Kenyans with the sale of fake fertilizer.

Specifically, the Managing Director was accused of abuse of office to secure contracts for the sale. The MD and two other officials denied the charges and were instructed to pay Ksh3 million with one surety each or a cash bail of Ksh1 million each.
An 11-member parliamentary committee was established to investigate an impeachment motion after 149 MPs supported it.
The committee includes TJ Kajwang’, Yusuf Farah, Robert Mbui, Naomi Waqo, Rachel Nyamai, Samuel Chepkonga, and George Gitonga, as well as Jane Njeri Maina, Kassim Sawa Tandaza, Moses Malulu, and Catherine Omanyo.
The MPs aimed to ensure the committee’s composition was diverse and unbiased in its investigation. The committee has ten days to investigate the allegations and report back to the House.
