Imara Daima Landlord Arrested for Brutal Assault on Tenants Over January Rent
Today, police officers arrested a landlord in Imara Daima, Nairobi, who assaulted tenants in the building due to non-payment of January rent.
This occurred after the tenants sounded an alert after an assault on their families on January 5, precisely as some of them were departing for their workplaces.
The landlord purportedly assaulted the wife of a tenant and took off his door while engaging in a confrontation with other individuals.
“I was called by my house as I had left for work, I had to rush back just to find him cutting my door,” another tenant commented.
The drama continued beyond that point, with the majority of residents receiving another notification after the event. Allegedly, he went to their doors and requested that they leave for the well-being of their children.
Before this, he had previously issued a warning during the holiday period, stating that he would take away the doors of individuals who made delayed payments.

Moreover, his staff members have also spoken up to clarify that they have experienced repeated harassment from their employer, who happens to be their landlord.
“He always has issues with a lot of things but the last two weeks, things have been worse even for his tenants,” another employee commented.
The landlord has become widely known on the internet after a video capturing him assaulting the tenants started circulating on various social media platforms.
In the online videos, a crowd of observers gathered nearby, observing the incident from afar without daring to intervene.
Several attempted to summon the landlord to stop the altercation, but the rebellious manager persisted in striking the customers.
The online community has expressed intense disapproval towards the landlord due to their perceived lack of comprehension and compassion, following the circulation of the viral video.
