Human Bones Uncovered at Yatta Ranch: Mass Grave Concerns

Tuesday, May 16th’s discovery of human bones in a ranch in Machakos County sparked fears that the vast area may contain a mass grave.

Residents living in the vicinity of Yatta B2 Ranch, which is situated in the Kalelini area of Kanyonyoo and borders the Yatta and Kitui constituencies, discovered bones thought to have been buried there under dubious circumstances.

In addition to requesting investigations, the locals are now concerned that additional bodies may have been buried there.

Yatta B2 Ranch is one of the most expansive properties in the Lower Eastern region. Spanning over 53,000 acres; if investigators were to begin their work there, it could take weeks.

In August 2021, 15 people went missing in the Yatta B2 Ranch. After more than 100 armed thugs attacked squatters on the property.

The discovery of human remains caused Kenyans to fear that the area had been used to bury victims.

To determine the cause of death of the victims. It is necessary to identify the remains found in Yatta B2 Ranch.

Chakama Ranch in Kilifi County had been designated as a crime scene before the discovery at Yatta B2 ranch.

Following the discovery of shallow graves containing human remains in the ranch’s Shakahola Forest, this occurred.

Under the guise of religious fasting, Paul Mackenzie, a suspected cult pastor. Is said to have induced forced starvation on his followers. It is believed that the bodies were buried in his direction.

At the crime scene, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki vowed that no stone would remain unturned.

Kindiki vowed on Sunday, April 23: “While the state remains respectful of religious freedom, this horrifying stain on our conscience must result in the most severe punishment for the perpetrator.”

Kenyans in the Masinga, Kitui Rural, and Yatta constituencies were requested to report if they had recently lost relatives.
