How Foreign Powers Assisted Ruto To Defeat Raila- Kuria
Tuesday, Cabinet Secretary for Public Service Moses Kuria lent credence to the claim that Western nations assisted President William Ruto in winning the 2022 election.
Kuria claimed in an interview with a local radio station that Western envoys from the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union were instrumental in securing President Ruto’s inauguration, particularly during the tense period of vote tallying when the entire nation was on edge.
CS Kuria levied allegations against an unnamed group of influential members of the previous administration, alleging that they devised a scheme to undermine the victory of Ruto, mere moments before the official declaration by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
As a critical member of Ruto’s campaign apparatus at the time, Kuria asserts that he contacted the three envoys and requested their presence at the Bomas of Kenya.
Kuria stated that their presence at the national tallying center would safeguard the integrity of the election and prevent the fraught situation from escalating into anarchy.
“So I told Duale and Ndindi Nyoro, these people are going to put us on task. So I quickly made a phone call to ambassadors from the Western countries, since I was the one coordinating them,” Kuria remarked.
According to Kuria, a faction of high-ranking government officials from the previous administration intended to cause damage to senior members of the UDA campaign team by instigating disputes at the Bomas of Kenya.
As stated by the CS, the ambassadors’ presence aided in thwarting the purported conspiracy.

“I called US, UK, and EU ambassadors, convinced them to come to Bomas so that they could witness the unfoldings by themselves, so that if by any case anything occurs or even deaths, they would have been there to witness, that one big thing that saved us,” Kuria noted.
Kuria claims that the tumultuous environment at the Bomas of Kenya before the declaration of the presidential election outcomes instilled in him a sense of terror and panic.
“I was not sure if we could have come out of the Bomas of Kenya alive, there was a looming danger, and we were very few, you know the other side had the government and they were very many,” Kuria stated.
“They really angered us, and despite being sure that we had won, the looming danger at Bomas made me fearful.”
The CS recollected his four-day sojourn at Bomas of Kenya, during which he was compelled to demonstrate considerable fortitude and perseverance. Furthermore, he possessed an awareness that anything might transpire within that window.
“I knew we were going to win the election, the problem was that we were competing with very powerful people,” the CS said.
