House Help Fatally Attacks Kilifi County Chief Officer

Rahab Karisa, the chief county officer for Kilifi’s Fisheries and Blue Economy, was wounded by her housekeeper on Thursday, July 20.

Dominick Otieno, a leading DCI officer in Kilifi County, verified the incident to GossipA2Z.

“Yes, I can confirm that the incident occurred and that it is being investigated, but only the CCIO can provide additional information,” the DCI officer said.

David Siele, the County Criminal Investigation Officer (CCIO), was similarly cagey with additional information but stated that the police would issue an initial report by the end of the day.

According to witnesses, Karisa returned from a business journey to Europe on Wednesday, July 19.

“We visited the crime location and were able to recover the murder weapon. She had a visible wound, but we hope to learn more after an autopsy,” Ms. Hadi said.

Neighbors who spoke with GossipA2Z disclosed that the woman had previously worked for Ms. Karisa. According to reports, her corpse was discovered face down in a pool of blood in her bedroom.

Also discovered were dispersed papers on the bed and floor.

The police are investigating reports that the housekeeper stabbed her employer after discovering that money was missing from the residence.

She became involved in an altercation with the housekeeper, who fled before officers from a private company arrived to perform their morning duties.

According to reports, the corpse of the Chief Officer was discovered face down in a pool of blood in her bedroom, with documents strewn about the bed and floor.

The deceased’s corpse was transferred to the mortuary of the Kilifi County Referral Hospital in preparation for an autopsy.

Karisa was a devoted environmental activist who was interested in environmental management. She served as County Chief Officer in the administration headed by Governor Gideon Mung’aro until her passing.

She participated in environmental conservation initiatives in Kilifi County, working closely with local communities and advocating for international sustainability best practices.

Before that, Karisa was an environmental and social performance advisor at Kenya Railways for two years before joining Kenya Rural Roads Authority for two years as an environmentalist.
