He is a Truthful Man- Joho Hails Ruto’s Honesty After CS Appointment
Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho has refuted claims that he betrayed Kenyans by accepting a position in President William Rutoโs cabinet.
In a conversation on the Obinna Live Show on Monday, December 9, Joho explained that his decision to join the cabinet was made to serve the Kenyan people.
The former Mombasa Governor emphasized that his role in the government provided an opportunity to fulfill the commitments made by the Azimio coalition during the 2022 election campaigns.
Addressing his previous criticism of President Rutoโs administration, the CS stated that his views had shifted, and he now recognizes Ruto as his leader.
โThereโs no betrayal involved, itโs simply about what we can do now that we have the chance. For example, had we succeeded, we would have implemented the same promises we made to Kenyans,โ Joho remarked.
โRuto is my boss, and I acknowledge him as the nationโs leader. We share a good relationship, having worked together in various political contexts,โ he added.

Joho also responded to Kenyans who have been critical of President Rutoโs leadership, asserting that those criticizing his government have no valid grounds to do so.
The CS highlighted that the government had introduced various initiatives aimed at addressing the challenges facing the public and urged citizens to be patient as efforts were made to find sustainable solutions.
โSignificant developments are happening, but some will take time to yield results. Just like with any plan, some things will take longer to materialize while others show results sooner,โ Joho stated.
During the interview, Joho also acknowledged his academic struggles but assured that his past educational setbacks would not hinder his ability to contribute to Kenya’s progress.
He explained that his academic challenges were due to personal difficulties during his school years, such as a lack of necessities required for a proper education.
“I admit I failed my exams, but I didnโt fail in life. Despite my academic shortcomings, Iโve faced many challenges and overcome them. Iโm proud to say that Iโve succeeded in life, even though I struggled in school,” the former Mombasa Governor concluded.
