“Greedy?” Junnet Mohammed Accuses Ndindi Nyoro of Hijacking Billions for Kiharu(Video)
A group of lawmakers in the National Assembly has accused Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro of using his position as chairman of the Budget and Appropriations Committee to unfairly allocate funds to his constituency.
MPs Unhappy with Ndindi Nyoro
Suna East MP Junet Mohamed alleged that Nyoro directed a large share of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) to Kiharu, leaving other constituencies behind.
According to Junet, Nyoro took billions of shillings to his constituency, ignoring other needy areas that were identified during public participation on resource allocation.
Junet, the Minority Leader in the House, claimed that despite public consultations, Nyoro prioritized his own constituency over others.
“The Budget and Appropriations Committee had MPs visiting Kiharu for benchmarking. Yet, all of us should receive equal NG-CDF funds. Why are MPs benchmarking there? Because the chair is allocating more money to his constituency,” Junet said.
He accused Nyoro of using his position in the powerful committee to channel extra funds to Kiharu. He pointed to high-end projects in the constituency, such as tiled classrooms and cabro-paved school compounds, which he claimed other MPs could not afford with the current budget.
“Which MP here can build classrooms, plaster them, install windows, roofs, tiles, cabros, and then advertise on Citizen TV prime time news? None. That is only possible for someone with access to more funds than the rest of us,” Junet added.

National Assembly’s Response to Budget Bias
Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungโwah also criticized the budget committee, saying it unfairly allocated extra funds to certain constituencies.
Ichungโwah, the Majority Leader, stated that the National Assembly would not allow committee members to allocate money to their own constituencies at the expense of others.
“This House will not sit back and allow budget committee members to prioritize their constituencies. All 349 MPs represent people and lobby for resources. It is immoral and unprofessional for committee members to misuse their positions,” Ichungโwah said.
He assured that a new budget committee had been formed to ensure fair distribution of resources in the future.
Ndindi Nyoro Removed from Budget Committee
Recently, Gossipa2z.com reported changes in National Assembly committee leadership. Ndindi Nyoro, who chaired the budget committee since 2022, was removed, possibly due to his stance on key legislation backed by the Executive.
Nyoro, along with other MPs allied to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, lost their seats in powerful committees.
Alego Usonga MP Sam Atandi from ODM is expected to replace Nyoro as the new chair of the Budget and Appropriations Committee.
