Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has dismissed rumors about an alleged affair with County Chief of Staff Charles Odhiambo. She called the claims false and baseless.
Wanga Responds to Allegations
On Monday, March 17, Wanga, who is currently in New York, rejected the accusations. She said she is focused on her official duties and not on propaganda.
“Chilly morning here in New York as we wrap up our week-long meetings at the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). Stop the propaganda. Fortunately, I’m battle-hardened, focused, and undeterred. Blessed week ahead,” she wrote.
Odhiambo Denies ICU Claims
Charles Odhiambo also denied claims that he was hospitalized in the ICU after an attack.
Speaking on Ramogi TV, Odhiambo reassured the public that he was in good health and continuing with his duties.
“The rumors have shocked me. Some say I am dead, others claim I am in the ICU after an acid attack. But as you can see, I am fine. I have never been attacked,” he said.
Political Propaganda?
Odhiambo suggested that the false reports were politically motivated. He believes some people are unhappy with the progress made by Wanga’s administration and are spreading lies to divert attention.
“The county government has achieved a lot, and that makes some people uncomfortable. They try to create distractions. That’s how politics works,” he explained.
He also criticized the misuse of social media, saying it is often used for spreading falsehoods instead of promoting positive discussions.
