The government has named Dr. Richard Lesiyampe Leserian as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), Kenyaโ€™s largest public referral and teaching hospital.

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale made the announcement in an official statement, praising Dr. Lesiyampe as an experienced health administrator capable of steering KNH through its current reforms.

โ€œDr. Richard Lesiyampe brings extensive expertise that will help strengthen KNHโ€™s leadership, clinical services, and management systems,โ€ Duale noted.

He also emphasized that KNH remains the top referral facility in the country and a vital pillar in driving healthcare reforms and expanding Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

Before this appointment, Dr. Lesiyampe was the Acting CEO at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH), where he helped boost the hospitalโ€™s reputation and operational capacity. With his move to KNH, Joshua Clinton Ombiri Okise will now serve as Acting CEO at JOOTRH to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
