Gor Sip Tusker To Go 10 Points Clear, Bandari Defy Sharks Attack To Share The Spoils
Surging Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia went 10 points clear of second-placed Nairobi City Stars after picking a pivotal 1-0 win against fellow giants Tusker FC.
Austin Odhiambo was the hero for Gor in the afternoon scoring the all-important goal to seal the three points for K’Ogalo who are looking to defend their title.
At the Mbaraki Sports Club, host team Bandari and Kariobangi Sharks settled for a 2-2 draw, Shabana fell 0-1 to Ulinzi Stars at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay while KCB and Muhoroni Youth ended in a barren draw.
At Mbaraki, Bandari got their goals through Umar Kasumba and Nahimana Shassiri while Sharks got theirs through Patrick Ngunyi and Isaac Wasambo.

Umar Kasumba missed a glorious chance in the fourth minute of the game to give Bandari what should have been an opener as his 20-yard shot went wide.
A minute later, Kariobangi Sharks winger Patrick Ngunyi tapped into an empty net after a power play on the right side by Geoffrey Onyango and Keith Imbali to give the visitors the lead.
The hosts failed to calm the ever-mounting pressure from home fans, Umar Kasumba and Derrick Nsibambi twin strike force seemingly neutralized by the Sharks defense.
Just before the break, Kasumba equalized for Bandari after connecting Captain Andrew Juma’s header pass after a curled corner kick from William Wadri.

Upon resumption, the Dockers made changes, introducing their new man Mohammed Barisa and Shassiri Nahimana.
In the 50th minute, Keith Imbali almost restored the Sharks lead after missing a one-on-one chance with Bandari goalie Joseph Ochuka but the home side upped the pressure paying off in the 75th minute after Nahimana shassiri collected a loose ball in the 18-yard-box and fired a low shot beating sharks goalkeeper Sepstianos Wekesa.
Eight minutes to the end of the match Isaac Wasambo pegged the scores after a master play by Captain Biron Otieno.
Home fans were left yawning for more action after the center referee ended the game with Bandari’s new striker Francis Kahiro and Winger Mohammed Barisa camping at Sharks 18-yard box for a winner.
