Gachagua Rejects Talks Outside Parliament, Blames Raila Odinga
Vice President Rigathi Gachagua has identified Raila Odinga, the leader of the opposition party Azimio, as Kenya’s number one enemy.
In Kilifi County, Gachagua ruled out any talks outside of Parliament with Raila Odinga’s Azimio.
He stated that there will be no discussions outside of Parliament and added that the government will only operate within the bounds of the law.
The Democratic Party criticized the Raila Odinga-led opposition for opposing bipartisan talks in parliament.
“No discussions outside parliament. No problem exists in Kenya ndio useme Koffi Anan. Wewe ndio shida. Ata akirudi kwa maandamano arudi bora asiharibu mali ya watu,” Gachagua affirmed.
He asked the Opposition to permit them to carry out their manifesto.

“Tunauliza ule mzee wa maandamano atuachie nafasi tufanye kazi. Na natolea watu wa kwale kofia sababu ya ujasiri mkubwa kuelewa kwamba uchaguzi umeisha.
“Wale ambao walipata, walipata wale hawakupata pole. Sasa wale wengine wa kutupa mawe na kuweka sufuria kichwani na kuharibu mali ya watu Kwale mkasema hamtaki upuzi,” he said.
This comes days after Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance announced they would not participate in a bipartisan parliamentary negotiation process.
“We remain committed to an extra-parliamentary dialogue that is truthful, transparent, substantive, and bipartisan in conception and implementation. Our members of parliament in both houses will not participate in any other process, and especially not the one proposed in Kenya Kwanza’s motion, Kalonzo declared.
