Gachagua Congratulates Trump With Cryptic Message

On Wednesday, November 6, impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua shared a cryptic message congratulating Donald Trump on becoming the new President of the United States amid ongoing elections.

Despite Trump not yet being declared the official winner, Gachagua praised the resilience Trump showed in his comeback to the highest office in America.

Gachagua’s social media message, coming just weeks after his swift impeachment and replacement, has stirred speculation about his future political moves.

“Congratulations, President Donald Trump, on one of the most remarkable political comebacks of our time. Your victory exemplifies that resilience and an unwavering spirit will always TRUMP obstacles to destiny. God Bless You. God Bless America,” Gachagua wrote.

Like Gachagua, Trump also faced impeachment trials during his initial term from 2016 to 2020 and has since received global praise from leaders, including several Kenyan politicians.

Projections suggest that Trump is expected to secure the presidency once he attains over 270 electoral votes. If successful, he would be the second U.S. president in history to serve non-consecutive terms, following Grover Cleveland, who served from 1884 to 1888 and then from 1892 to 1896.

As the 45th President from 2016 to 2020, Trump faced two impeachment trials, with his second vote receiving support from 10 Republican House Representatives in January 2021. Eight of those representatives have since lost their seats, while two are competing in this year’s elections.

Despite enduring two impeachment trials, Trump completed his term but continued to face legal battles post-presidency, with some cases still ongoing.

Trump, facing four trials and 91 charges over the last four years, was recently convicted in New York for falsifying business records, making him the first U.S. president-elect with a criminal conviction.

Once Trump is sworn in, all state-level cases in Georgia and New York, along with federal cases, are expected to be put on hold due to his presidential immunity.

While Gachagua was less fortunate, losing his role just two years into his term, he has hinted at a political comeback in Kenya through various public appearances.

Gachagua has encouraged Mount Kenya residents to remain hopeful, suggesting a political resurgence may be on the horizon. His congratulatory post to Trump also hinted at his aspirations.

Ndindi Nyoro, who remained silent during Gachagua’s impeachment, was one of the first Kenyan leaders to congratulate Trump on his projected win over Kamala Harris.

“Congratulations President Donald Trump, the 45th and 47th. Republican policies have consistently been beneficial for Africa and the Global South. Global economies will see a positive impact with monetary easing under Trump,” Nyoro expressed.

Several other Kenyan politicians, including Kalonzo Musyoka, Babu Owino, Mike Sonko, Anne Waiguru, Oscar Sudi, and Didmus Barasa, have also extended their congratulations to Trump.
