Gachagua Claims Mt Kenya Spokesperson Role, Vows Advocacy for Constituents
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has encouraged the inhabitants of the Mount Kenya region to come together and reject politics that sow division.
Gachagua made these remarks at a fundraising event held at Sacred Heart Endarasha Catholic Church in Kieni Constituency, Nyeri County, on Sunday.
During his speech, the Deputy President highlighted the ongoing events within the Mount Kenya region, emphasizing the importance for leaders to resist being manipulated into conflicts.
He warned that Mount Kenya stands to lose significantly if its members do not unite and speak with a unified voice.
“In my capacity as the Deputy President, I have opted for a more action-oriented approach over the past 10 months. As a representative of the Kikuyu community, I am prepared to dedicate myself to their service,” Gachagua affirmed.
Furthermore, he urged political figures to focus on their responsibilities, reaffirming his commitment to supporting President William Ruto.
“Gachagua remarked that while much has been said about him, MPs should focus on matters like the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and other community services.”
According to Gachagua, one should never betray their kin just because they’re succeeding; instead, they should offer support, recognizing that any achievements reflect positively on the family.

Kihara attributed recent events to political maneuvering and suggested that some leaders have been influenced to oppose Gachagua.
She noted that President Ruto had specific reasons for choosing Gachagua over other leaders.
“Gachagua must be accorded the respect he deserves; he is our leader, and we will stand firmly behind him,” Kihara affirmed.”
