Furious Oscar Sudi Targets Gachagua Again
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has once again criticized Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, focusing on Gachagua’s approach to politics.
Speaking at the funeral of former IEBC commissioner Irene Masit’s father, Sudi expressed his discontent with Gachagua’s persistent emphasis on regional politics, urging him instead to prioritize national unity in his role as Deputy President.
โWhen leaders reach a certain position, they should represent all Kenyans, not just their own community,โ Sudi remarked.
He continued by criticizing leaders who frequently use phrases like โour peopleโ or โmy people,โ arguing that such rhetoric should be replaced with discussions on issues that impact the entire nation.
Sudi emphasized that once elected, leaders have a responsibility to promote national politics that brings people together.
He pointed out that people from Central Kenya, for instance, contribute significantly to the nation beyond their region, and as such, it would be more appropriate for them to advocate for the broader interests of Kenya.
Sudi also urged leaders who focus on regional politics to present their vision in a more inclusive manner, avoiding divisive tactics.

โLet us unite and collaborate. Campaign with a manifesto and in a positive way. This style of politics is outdated, which is why Tanzania is ahead of usโthey abandoned tribalism long ago,โ Sudi added.
In his speech, Sudi also acknowledged Raila Odingaโs role in the nationโs development, including his contributions to the new constitution, emphasizing that Kenyans should be appreciative.
These remarks against Gachagua come after President William Ruto directed UDA members to halt a planned impeachment against his deputy.
Earlier, Sudi had criticized Gachagua for implying that some leaders fear a united Mt. Kenya region.
During a tour of the Rift Valley, Gachagua had questioned why leaders were attacking him for strongly supporting Mt. Kenya’s interests.
โI heard someone suggest that by uniting our region [Mt. Kenya], we could be isolated. Why would anyone isolate us for being united?โ Gachagua asked his audience, asserting that unity is beneficial.
