Former Police Officer Kills Wife, Assaults House Help in Pipeline
A family in Pipeline, Nairobi, is grieving the tragic death of 27-year-old Susan Nabwire, who was allegedly murdered by her husband in a shocking act of violence.
Nabwire, a young mother of a one-year-old baby, lost her life on the night of August 13. Her husband, a 44-year-old former police officer, is accused of killing her before turning on their house help and sexually assaulting her.
According to Nabwireโs mother, the suspect returned home that evening already in an angry mood. He allegedly accused his wife of being unfaithful and demanded her phone, passwords, and the PIN to her mobile money account.
“The wife refused to give him the PIN number, and he went to the bedroom. He removed his clothes and took a picture, then told his wife to take off her clothes and take the picture with him as well,” the mother narrated.
At around 3am, events took a darker turn. The house help recalled how the suspect armed himself with an axe and launched a violent attack on Nabwire.

“He was arguing with Susan through the night, then later he went to the bathroom and came back with an axe. He struck her neck with the axe and the head,” he stated.
“Then he took a rope and started strangling her with it. He then took a knife and started to stab her in the eyes, telling her that he would kill her as she watched.”
After killing his wife, the suspect is said to have hidden her body under the bed before sexually assaulting the house help. He then locked the house with the child and house help inside, taking their mobile phones with him as he fled.
Police later broke down the door and moved Nabwireโs body to Mama Lucy Hospital Mortuary.
The suspect, who had been on the run for 10 days, was finally arrested on Saturday, August 23. He is currently detained at Embakasi Police Station and is expected to face charges in court.
