Former CS Muturi Addresses Reports of Plotting an Exposé on Ruto’s Govt
Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has dismissed claims that he is planning to expose secrets about President William Ruto’s government.
On Friday, March 28, Muturi spoke out against a viral social media post that accused him of plotting to release damaging information about the current administration.
The fake post claimed that Muturi, who also served as Attorney General, was preparing to reveal alleged “evil deals” carried out by President Ruto since taking office.
The post falsely quoted Muturi saying:
“I am now a free man. I will expose the evil deals Ruto has been doing in this government. This is the fall of Ruto’s government that has harmed and abducted Kenyans.”
Muturi Calls Claims False and Malicious
Muturi denied the allegations, calling them fake and created by people who want to spread lies.
In an official statement, he said:
“A false quote is being circulated in my name; this is pure fabrication by malicious actors attempting to distort facts.”
He urged Kenyans to ignore such misinformation and follow only his official social media pages for real news.
“Let us not fall for diversionary tactics; truth always prevails,” Muturi added.
The Claims Follow Muturi’s Cabinet Dismissal
These false claims came just two days after President Ruto fired Muturi from his cabinet position. He was replaced by Geoffrey Ruku, the Member of Parliament for Mbeere North.
Before his dismissal, Muturi had denied rumours that he planned to resign, saying he was committed to serving Kenyans.
Why Ruto Fired Muturi
President Ruto criticized Muturi during an Iftar dinner at State House, Nairobi, on Tuesday, March 25.
Ruto said Muturi failed to deliver on key matters, including delays in setting up Waqf, a charitable Muslim trust.
The President said:
“I had a problem with the Attorney General who was there. He was fairly incompetent. But now I have a very competent lady, and I can assure you the issues of Waqf will be sorted out.”
