Families of 2 Men Gunned Down Near Police Station in Buru Buru Break Silence
The relatives of two individuals, part of the group of four fatally shot in Buru Buru Phase 5 Estate on Tuesday, have shared information regarding the last moments of their family members.
On Tuesday, when addressing reporters, the mother of a deceased individual disclosed that her son, who worked as a vendor selling second-hand clothing known as mitumba, conducted business in both the Umoja locality and via the internet.
The merchant had been at his mother’s house the day before the unfortunate event, cooking lunch for the whole family.
On this occasion, he utilized the opportunity to organize and talk about the details of his daughter’s approaching inaugural birthday party.
After dealing with these family affairs, he departed from home without realizing that these would be his final moments spent with his dear ones.
This marked the final occasion the family witnessed him alive. Despite efforts to contact him the following day proving unsuccessful, no one suspected his passing at that point.
“I saw the incident on the news the following day and I was shocked but did not think much of it, I went on with my day,” the mother recalled.
During an interview, his spouse became emotional, pleading for law enforcement to apprehend the individuals responsible for the murder. She shared the difficulty she faced in breaking the news to their daughter about her father’s passing.
However, the mother of the second person who passed away mentioned that she saw her son for the final time on December 23 when she provided him with funds to run his secondhand clothing business.

When she phoned him several days afterward, he didn’t answer. At that moment, she presumed her son was occupied and expected him to return the call later, as he usually did. However, this anticipated callback never occurred.
Regrettably, she received the heartbreaking news of her son’s passing, leaving her in a state of devastation and disbelief.
“Everyone makes a mistake and if there was a problem there is the law, if they had wronged anyone why couldn’t the matter be taken to the police? They had not stolen the car, and no gun was found in the vehicle so why spray them with bullets?” the heartbroken mother posed.
The two families pleaded with Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and the respective authorities to step in and investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the men, who were killed just a short distance away from the Buru Buru Police Station, aiming to uncover the mystery behind the incident.
Although the police have rejected the notion that the murder was committed by security officers, the families remain troubled by the absence of police officers from the station when the gunfire occurred at 2:30 am.
Inquiries are currently in progress while the remaining two bodies are yet to be identified. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
