Fake Fertilizer – Ngunjiri Reveals UDA’s Shady Deals Days After Party Exit

Kimani Ngunjiri, a former Member of Parliament for Bahati, remains vocal about questionable actions within the governing party, even following his departure from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), which he announced almost a week ago.

Speaking to the press in Nakuru on Sunday, the ex-legislator alleged that certain prominent individuals within the party were involved in the distribution of counterfeit fertilizer.

He additionally contended that certain figures within the UDA leadership were implicated in the unlawful acquisition of land parcels nationwide, including in Nakuru, his hometown.

“When you come to Nakuru County, there is a problem. You know the mess that has been done here. The party (UDA) now belongs to individuals and you know that. The issue has brought forth many problems and because of that, I want to step aside,” he stated.

“If we remain with one party, UDA, you know the ground will be very hostile. The fake fertilizer being distributed, the people doing that are from here. The people grabbing land all over are from the same system.”

During the press briefing, Ngunjiri suggested his intention to become a member of a different party within the Kenya Kwanza Coalition.

He contended that the UDA was already facing issues due to being taken over by certain individuals, and he felt the need to align himself with a group that had fewer complexities.

“Our Government has almost 18 parties which came together to form a coalition. I saw that I should leave the UDA party to those it belongs to,” he stated.

“I will look for one party within the rest of the other 17 parties which has no dispute with another here in Nakuru because I want peace.”

On Wednesday, Ngunjiri made a public announcement stating that he had resigned from UDA, asserting that the party had not upheld its commitment to its dedicated members.

“I want to say in this media and everybody in Kenya to hear me, I am not in UDA. I will never wear yellow,” the former MP noted.

“Somebody like me, they were giving people positions, where am I? I was almost dying fighting for UDA.”

He alleged that the party exhibited bias by overlooking him for a leadership position and instead appointing someone from a different political faction.
