Exhumation of Jeff Mwathi’s Body Raises Questions
He died in February
Jeff Mwathi, a 23-year-old interior designer, is having his body exhumed days after Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome issued the order.
Jeff Mwathi’s body is being exhumed on their farm in Likia, Njoro Sub-County, Nakuru County.
As part of the ongoing investigation into his death, detectives said they would exhume the body.
There will be a new autopsy performed.
Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome stated on Sunday that the police have found gaps in their investigation and must therefore exhume the body.

He stated that police are conducting exhaustive investigations to ensure that justice is served.
“We will exhume the body and examine the dimensions of the window through which he is said to have fallen to the ground floor. We are petitioning the court for an exhumation order “Koome said.
IG observed that Jeff was buried in Nyandarua many years ago, hence the need to seek an order to exhume his body.
Koome warned in his Nairobi office that whoever is found to be responsible for the murder will face the full force of the law.
He stated, “Anyone found responsible will be held accountable.”
DJ Fatxo, a Mugithi musician, is the prime suspect in the death of Jeff, who allegedly fell from the 12th floor of the building where DJ Fatxo resided.
Hanna Wacuka, the mother of Jeff, stated that she hopes her son will receive justice if his body is exhumed.
“If exhuming his body will bring about justice, I have no problem with that. Even if he is not exhumed, we still do not possess him, so I am at ease. There is no one guarding the grave of my son. We are performing this action. We pray to God that my son will receive justice so that his soul can rest in peace “She stated.
