Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki discovered controversial pastor Paul Mackenzie’s mud hut in Kilifi County’s Shakahola Forest on Thursday, May 25.

Kindiki informed Kenyans in a statement that Mackenzie of Good News International Church had constructed the mud grass thatched house for him to coordinate all operations.

To completely separate himself from other people, Mackenzie constructed small dams around the property to support his farming endeavor.
According to photographs released by the Ministry of the Interior, the area contained three houses with unclear boundaries.

A tour of one of the houses revealed a man with no discernible plan, as household items were disorganized and some appeared broken.

Kindiki stated, “Visited a portion of the Shakahola Forest where the radical preacher Mackenzie was residing, constructed irrigation dams, and grew a variety of food crops despite radicalizing his followers to starve to death.”

Astonished locals questioned why Mackenzie abandoned his mansion in Malindi and moved to the forest.
Monday, May 1st, enraged Kilifi residents raided the mansion in the Furunzi neighborhood after the controversial preacher departed with police officers.

In the meantime, CS Kindiki announced the government’s plan to build roads in Shakahola Forest so that police officers can access other areas believed to be part of the crime scene.

“The government will construct security roads within Chakama Ranch so that ground troops can comb the vast forest and combine forces with the team conducting aerial surveillance to locate and rescue anyone still hiding in the thickets,” Kindiki declared.

Before the intervention, law enforcement officials lamented that the remaining victims were fleeing toward Galana Kulalu and Tsavo National Park.

“We believe that additional victims are hiding in the forest, and some are attempting to flee Mackenzie land and Chakama ranch. We have rescued some of them.

“Unfortunately, yesterday, May 24, we lost one of the rescued victims from Shakahola Forest because they refused to eat. “We did our best to feed the victims, but they succumbed because they were already weakened,” he explained.

There have been a total of 241 bodies recovered from the forest, including five skeletons.
