Ex-CS Moses Kuria Announces Plans to Join Azimio After Raila Meeting
Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has announced his intention to join Raila Odinga’s Azimio Coalition.
Kuria revealed his plans on Monday after meeting the former Prime Minister at his Capitol Hill office in Nairobi.
This follows Kuria’s recent dismissal from President William Ruto’s Cabinet during a significant reorganization.
“I met the former Prime Minister for talks centered on National Dialogue and Chama Cha Kazi’s decision to join the Azimio Coalition,” Kuria told Capital FM news.
When asked about his decision to join Azimio, Kuria explained that it reflects his confidence in President Ruto’s broad-based government, which is now collaborating closely with Odinga.
“My meeting with Odinga is a vote of confidence in the broad-based government now in place and the unity of the country,” he told Capital FM news in a telephone interview following the meeting.

Kuria was among the Cabinet Secretaries not reappointed by President Ruto after the recent changes prompted by GenZ protests.
“We discussed various issues facing the nation. I thanked Baba for once again stepping back to save the country from self-destruction,” Kuria said.
In forming the broad-based government, President Ruto nominated four high-ranking members of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party to his Cabinet. The appointees include party chairman John Mbadi (Treasury), Wycliffe Oparanya (Co-operatives), Hassan Joho (Mining), and Beatrice Askul Moe (East African Community).
Kuria expressed his full support for President Ruto and Odinga’s decision to work together, advocating for a national dialogue to address the country’s recurring challenges.
“We were unanimous that moving forward, we cannot continue to prescribe Panadol when surgery is required,” Kuria said after his meeting with Odinga. “The upcoming national dialogue must and will culminate in deliberate structural reform for a lasting solution. We will work very closely in that endeavor as we continue to consult with other like-minded leaders.” Democratic Movement (ODM) party were appointed to key Cabinet Secretary positions.
