Eldoret Policewoman Arrested After Shooting Husband 12 Times

During a heated argument between the couple, which occurred on the outskirts of Eldoret town, a female officer from the Administration Police Service (APS) was taken into custody on suspicion of shooting and killing her husband with a firearm.

The officer, who was a mother of three, had been on duty at the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) before coming home with her service firearm in the early hours of Sunday morning. She had been on duty for the previous day.

After what was claimed to be a heated disagreement between the couple, witnesses then reported hearing gunshots, which caused the nearby residents to run for their safety.

It is reported that the policewoman killed her husband by discharging more than 12 rounds of ammunition inside their home.

After the shooting, she ran away from the scene but later turned herself in at the police station in Eldoret, where she was subsequently taken into custody.

Benjamin Mwanthi, the commander of the Uasin Gishu County Police, claimed that the body of the deceased had been transferred to the morgue of the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. This information was provided after the occurrence was verified.

“The female officer is now in our custody, and we are actively investigating the matter,” according to Mwanthi.

The authorities are investigating the situation right now to find out what took place.

On Monday, October 15, the accused is scheduled to make their initial court appearance.
