Edwin Chiloba, a fashion designer, found dead. Police in Uasin Gishu is investigating a murder after the body of prominent fashion designer Edwin Chiloba was discovered in a metallic box.

A Bodaboda rider noticed a vehicle with no number dropping the metal box near the Kipenyo – Kaptinga road, according to the source.

The incident was reported to Uasin Gishu police, who responded to the location and discovered a decomposing body of a guy clothed in a woman’s clothing inside the box.

Edwin Chiloba, a fashion designer from Eldoret, was later identified as the deceased.

The body was brought to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.

    Who exactly is Edwin Chiloba?

Edwin was born in the town of Elgeyo Marakwet. He lost his mother when he was quite young, and he later lost his father, who was his inspiration.

After spending his school years jumping from one relative to the next, he enrolled for a degree in Education at Moi University West Campus, where he discovered his bliss, a new love, fashion, via the multiplicity of school groups and exposure.

In his third year, he began putting together clothes and participating in photoshoots and pageants that his family did not approve of. He dropped out of school and relocated to Nairobi to pursue his fashion dreams.

A friend offered him a contract with his modeling firm. He created his drawings, and not long after, he received his breakthrough a Facebook message from a white couple who admired his work. His career began when he enrolled in fashion school.

He was a genderless, unorthodox fashion designer who defied all barriers.

    May his spirit find peace.
