Duale Scolds Uhuru for Criticizing Police at Jubilee HQ
Wednesday, April 26th, Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale criticized former President Uhuru Kenyatta for personally visiting the Jubilee Party Headquarters.
The Cabinet Secretary stated that his former boss’s attempt to prevent the Jubilee Party from joining Kenya Kwanza was unbecoming of a former president.
He revealed further that Uhuru’s actions prevented police officers from dispersing unruly crowds at the headquarters, as was their duty.
“It is unfortunate to see a former president, after serving two full terms, diminish his stature by fighting for a party that presided over misrule, wanton looting of public coffers, and extrajudicial killings during the infamous rogue handshake regime,” the CS stated.
Duale advised Uhuru to take a back seat and allow parliamentarians to determine the party’s future.
“The once colossal party, which boasted a near supermajority of 174 legislators, now has a pitiful number of defectors.”
“Uhuru should stop tarnishing his image by attempting to resurrect a dormant party and leave the squabble to the elected MPs,” he advised the President.

In addition, the Chief of Staff lamented that the former Chief of the Armed Forces was preventing police officers from carrying out their duties.
“It is appalling how low the former president has sunk, to the point where he insults police officers protecting life and property on official duty.
“Uhuru mocks police officers while pretending to beg them to maintain peace,” Duale remarked, adding that Uhuru allegedly funded opposition protests.
National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungw’ah, on the other hand, cautioned residents of Kileleshwa, where the Jubilee Party’s headquarters are located, to brace for more chaos, noting that the party’s leadership did not care about the area.
Ichungw’ah stated, “The former president does not care if there is chaos in the area; he is only concerned with protecting one family.”
Uhuru, the party leader of Jubilee, visited the offices following an altercation between Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni and East African Legislative Assembly member Kanini Kega.
In a call for peace, he advised those who were unhappy with Jubilee’s position in the opposition to leave.
“SG Kioni called me and informed me of the current situation. I stated that I must come to protect our party in solidarity with him and other party members.
“Those who are unhappy are free to change their political affiliation,” he told the rebels.
