Drunk Police Officer Shoots Lover and Another Man Dead in Nightclub Tragedy
A fun night out ended in horror after a drunk police officer opened fire at a nightclub, killing his girlfriend and another man in what is believed to be a love triangle gone wrong.
The incident happened on the night of Thursday, June 26, during a party. Witnesses say the officer found out that his girlfriend was secretly seeing another man. In a fit of rage, the officer, who had an AK-47 rifle, shot both of them inside the club.
Panicked revellers quickly called the police for help. The suspect tried to escape on a motorbike, but he was caught by officers from the Turbo Sub County Police and the DCI (Directorate of Criminal Investigations) before he could get away.
Police managed to disarm the officer and recovered the AK-47 rifle, which had 20 bullets left. A report from authorities revealed that the nightclub where the shooting happened belonged to the woman who was killed. She had been living with another man at the time.

The officer was supposed to be on night duty with the weapon, but instead used a motorbike to head to the pub where he confronted the couple. During the chaos, a third man was hit by a stray bullet. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police said the two bodies were moved to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, where post-mortem exams will be done. The officer is currently in custody as investigations begin to determine what exactly led to the deadly shooting.
This is just one of several recent incidents involving police officers misusing firearms. In December last year, a similar case was reported in Machakos County, where an officer fired 30 bullets inside a club during a fight over a woman.
Another case happened in February, when a police officer shot and killed his colleague after a disagreement as they left a club in Nairobi. In March, yet another officer from Gigiri Police Station shot two colleaguesโkilling one and injuring the other.
