DP Gachagua’s Staffer Speaks After Her Sacking Letter Goes Viral
Martha Wanjiru Miano, who previously held the position of Deputy Director of Public Communications under Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, has been relieved of her duties.
An official letter from the Office of the Principal Administrative Secretary, dated August 20, 2024, confirmed that her employment contract will officially end on October 20, 2024.
In a heartfelt message shared online, Miano reflected on her tenure and expressed gratitude for her experience serving in one of Kenyaโs top government offices.
She disclosed that she had not yet received the termination letter directly and only learned of her dismissal through social media channels.
Mianoโs response
Despite the abrupt and surprising nature of her termination, Miano took to social media to express her appreciation and convey her thoughts on the matter.

Acknowledging the peculiar circumstances, she said, “Unfortunately, my termination letter had to reach me via social media. As of now, I haven’t officially seen or received it. But thatโs life, and I accept it.”
Miano expressed deep gratitude for the chance to work in such a prestigious role.

“Being part of the second highest office seemed like a childhood dream, but God made it a reality when President Ruto assumed power. It’s purely by Godโs grace. Now that this chapter is closing, Iโm at peace with it,” she shared.
She emphasized the impact of her achievement, not only on a personal level but as a significant milestone for her community.
“People might not know this, but in my village, no one has ever held a position like this. At 32 years old, I became the first. By any standard, itโs no small feat. I leave with my head held high, free of shame or regret… I know I gave it my all. My heart is content, and my conscience is clear,” she affirmed.
Appreciation for President Ruto and DP Gachagua
Miano openly expressed her admiration for both President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
She reiterated her steadfast support for President Ruto, saying, “To my former boss, President William Ruto… Asante Sana. I believe in your vision for this country and your good intentions for all of us. Even without the job, I remain your number one supporter and will always be grateful.”
She also expressed her appreciation for Deputy President Gachagua, simply stating, “To my immediate former boss, Rigathi Gachagua… Iโm grateful as well.”
Concluding her message, Miano openly acknowledged her current situation, appealing to friends for new job opportunities while remaining a source of inspiration to many.
