“Do not order me, Do Not Touch Me”- Drama as Jimi Wanjigi Clashes with Police Officers

Drama ensued on Monday afternoon, August 19, after businessman and politician Jimi Wanjigi arrived at Nairobi Area Regional Police Headquarters for grilling.

In videos seen by Gossipa2z.com, Wanjigi clashed with police officers who were ordering him to enter his car as journalists stood by in anticipation of interviewing him.

A seemingly infuriated Wanjigi confronted the officers, clearly displeased by the incident.

“Do not order me and do not touch me. Have respect,” Wanjigi told one of the officers.

The police officer kept on pressing the Safina Party leader to enter the vehicle, but Wanjigi stood his ground, saying, “What if I don’t enter?”

The officer then later pleaded with Wanjigi before he finally agreed to enter the vehicle.

The businessman had arrived for grilling over alleged funding of the Gen Z-led anti-government protests that rocked the country previously.

Speaking in an interview on August 13, Wanjigi maintained that he supported the protests and claimed that he supported the young generation financially.

“I support the Gen Zs and what they are doing. Kenyans are in pain. And yes I have supported them financially. I gave them money when they were in bond, and I have supported the supply of flags and water. I’m sure I’m not the only Kenyan who did it,” Wanjigi stated.

He spoke after police raided his home in Muthaiga on August 8.

According to acting Police Inspector General Gilbert Masengeli, police had intercepted a vehicle outside the businessman’s residence and recovered several items from the vehicle, including 4 teargas canisters and police communication devices.
