Disturbing Discovery: Missing Body Parts Uncovered in Shakahola Victims
A police officer from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Headquarters, Financial Investigation Unit in Nairobi disclosed that some of the victims exhumed from the Shakahola forest lacked organs.
In a supporting affidavit, Chief Inspector Martin Munene noted that preliminary reports suggested that the trade in human body organs was a well-coordinated scheme involving multiple participants.
He suspected that additional bodies were still buried on the expansive, over 1,000-acre property.
The officer remarked that the number of fatalities could not be determined until the search and rescue mission was concluded.
A portion of the affidavit stated, “The process of identifying some of the bodies of the victims discovered buried in Shakahola through DNA profiling is still ongoing as the post-mortem process has not been completed.”

The officer also accused Pastor Ezekiel Odero of the New Life Prayer Centre and Church. Of receiving large sums of cash believed to be proceeds of illicit cash from radicalized property sellers.
He suspected the pastor’s sixteen bank accounts, noting that they were linked to Ezekiel’s numerous investments.
DCI officers were granted access to Pastor Ezekiel’s 16 bank accounts when they received the news.
Chief Inspector Munene asked the court to investigate Pastor Ezekiel’s accounts for what he termed illegal transactions.
A portion of the ruling stated, “It is necessary and desirable to issue the applicant a warrant to investigate books of the bank and mobile money services accounts to grant the officer access to books about multiple account numbers.”
The court also ordered the bank managers to place a thirty-day freeze. On the accounts to allow detectives to review and collect evidence.
In addition, the pastor was prohibited from withdrawing or conducting any type of transaction until the investigations were concluded.
“Whereas it has been established on oath before this Honorable Court that, to investigate the commission of Money Laundering Contrary to Section 3, 4, and 7 of POCAMLA Act No. 9 of 2009, it is necessary and desirable to issue the Applicant with a warrant to investigate the books of the bank and mobile money services accounts,” the court ruling stated.
