Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Fires Back at Senator Boni Khalwale’s Presidential Succession Warning
On Sunday, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua issued a response in response to Senator Boni Khalwale’s warning to the country’s second in command not to anticipate succeeding President William Ruto from Kakamega.
The Senator categorically stated on Monday, November 13, that a presidential candidate from Western Kenya would succeed Ruto and disavowed Gachagua’s presidential ambitions.
Rigathi Gachagua was also accused by Khalwale of interfering in Western politics.
Gachagua dismissed the remarks with a gesture during a religious service, emphasizing that he is presently occupied with serving the people of Kenya.
Gachagua maintained that it is futile to engage in a discourse regarding the upcoming elections while presenting his case.
“I hear some people talking about elections in 2032, these people are lost. We are only one year in office how can you discuss 2032, even 2027 is premature to debate,” the DP remarked.
“That is far away, I don’t understand why one year into office people are talking about 2032. How do you know you’ll still be alive? That is useless talk,” he posed. will survive? “That is meaningless discourse,” he questioned.

As a result of the challenging economic conditions the nation is experiencing, Gachagua claims he has little time to reflect on the 2032 elections.
The Deputy President cautioned leaders against including him in such dialogues, claiming that they are incongruous with the objectives of Kenya Kwanza.
Gachagua stated, in support of his position, that he is committed to transforming the coffee, tea, and milk sectors.
The second-in-command instructed the remaining leaders to concentrate their endeavors on keeping the commitments they had made to the populace.
Last week, concurrent with his assault on Gachagua, Khalwale cautioned the Deputy President against encroaching upon the sugar industry, upon which a great number of Western residents depend, as he implemented agricultural reforms.
In addition, the lawmaker advised Gachagua to focus on coffee and tea reforms in Mount Kenya, while leaving sugar-related concerns to Western legislators.
