Democracy Under Siege: Shocking Scheme to Kill 2027 Elections Exposed
Jubilee Party Secretary General, Jeremiah Kioni, has raised concerns about a possible plan to delay the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Tuesday, February 25, Kioni claimed that several influential groups are working behind the scenes to create conditions that could lead to the postponement of the elections.
The former Ndaragwa MP pointed out two key developments that, in his view, suggest this plan is in motion. One is the ongoing discussions about removing Supreme Court judges, and the other is the proposed budget for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Kioni insisted that the situation is clear, saying, โThere are powerful forces preparing the ground to push the elections to a later date. It is as if the constitution has been put on hold. From discussions about the judiciary to the proposed IEBC budget, everything points to maintaining the current leadership and avoiding change. People need to stay alert.โ

His remarks followed recent comments by IEBC Deputy CEO, Obadiah Keitany, who disclosed that the electoral commission requires at least Ksh 61 billion to conduct the 2027 elections. Keitany also mentioned that IEBC is still dealing with unpaid bills of Ksh 3 billion and that over 45,000 KIEMS kits need to be replaced before the polls.
Meanwhile, Nelson Havi, a former president of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), has filed a case with the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) seeking the removal of Supreme Court judges. He accuses them of serious misconduct. However, the High Court has intervened, preventing JSC from proceeding with the petitions after Chief Justice Martha Koome and Justice Njoki Ndungโu took legal action against the commission.
With all these unfolding events, Kioni believes there is a deliberate effort to delay the elections, warning citizens to remain watchful.
