DCI Nabs Trio in Businessman Murder Case
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested three individuals for the homicide of a Vihiga County-based businessman.
The triumvirate was apprehended on Thursday in Yala Township, Siaya County, by agents of the investigation agency.
The DCI revealed that the suspects were apprehended after the elite Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau linked them to the crime site and interviewed witnesses.
Upon their apprehension, the DCI recovered a number of the victim’s personal belongings.
The detectives did not, however, specify the precise items recovered from the suspects.
“The three who were found with some of the deceased’s personal effects will be charged with murder contrary to section 203 as read with section 204 of the penal code,” the DCI stated.

Ibrahim Ondieko, 27, was slain in cold blood as he returned home after closing his store. He was with his wife when they were accosted by a gang.
The deceased’s wife survived the assault; however, she sustained severe hand injuries.
During the attack, Ondieko’s wife was able to escape the scene, where she encountered police officers on patrol. The police arrived quickly and transported the injured businessman to a nearby hospital.
The suspects had already fled the site at the time.
“We had just closed our shop and were headed home when the men who had their faces covered attacked us. One of them came after me with a machete and as I shielded myself, he struck my left arm almost dismembering it,” narrated the wife.
DCI also cautioned Kenyans to be wary of the recent increase in crime rate, while maintaining that those responsible would be brought to justice.
