DCI Detectives Search DJ Fatxo’s House in Mwathi Murder Probe
Geoffrey Mwathi, a 23-year-old interior designer, died at the residence of Kikuyu entertainer Lawrence Njuguna aka DJ Fatxo. Detectives from the Homicide division of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have initiated an investigation into Mwathi’s death.
This comes after Interior CS Professor Kithure Kindiki ordered the DCI to investigate the case and get to the bottom of the matter in response to allegations of collusion that posed a threat to investigations.
After 16 days, the DCI takes over the investigation from the Kasarani police station.
Moments after Interior CS Kindiki instructed DCI director Mohamed Amin to conduct intensive investigations into the mysterious death of Geoffrey Mwathi, homicide and forensic detectives from the DCI arrived at the scene in the Roysambu area of Kasarani to initiate ‘new’ investigations.

Geoffrey Mwathi fell from a 10-story house rented by Lawrence Njuguna aka DJ Fatxo, a well-known Kikuyu entertainer.
CCTV cameras only captured Mwathi landing on the ground floor of the singer’s home, so it is currently unknown from which floor he fell.
Friday, detectives were attempting to determine whether Mwathi fell from the window or the roof, as it appears impossible for anyone to fit into the window frame.
After spending the night partying with the popular Mugithi singer alongside his cousin and driver, Jeff was at DJ Faxto’s residence.
According to reports, jeff met the singer hours earlier for an interior design job and was promised a deposit to begin work the following morning.
After the business meeting concluded, it is documented that Jeff joined DJ Fatxo for drinks and revelry before returning to Redwood Apartments around 3 a.m. on the 22nd.
